Between 150 and 200 people were in and around the church. Most of the victims are reported to be 50 to 70 years old. 27 of the wounded are still in hospital.
Nobody has claimed it. No suspects have been named.
That's everything we know.
Why this mattersSo let's talk about why this one is different.
Jordan is one of the few places in this region that has stayed stable while wars rage all around it.
And Christians are a small part of this country. About 300,000 people, out of 11.5 million. Attacks on them are rare here.
Mazen Al-Faraya, Jordan's Interior Minister, is calling this terrorist and unprecedented. He says whoever did it has, in his words, no relationship to humanity.
Then King Abdullah II went further. He says quote "strike with an iron fist against those who dare to threaten our nation". He's promising the harshest retaliation.
And here's the thing. He's promising that before anyone has even been identified.
Mohammed Al-Momani, Jordan's Minister of Government Communications, says security forces are investigating right now.
This has already reached outside Jordan. Joseph Aoun, Lebanon's President and the only Christian head of state in the Arab world, is calling it a heinous terrorist attack.
And Jordan has been here before. Back in 2016, gunmen linked to ISIL killed 10 people in Karak. Seven of them were security officers. One was a Canadian tourist. That ended in a standoff at a Crusader-era castle in the same province.
Jordan has also come under Iranian attack since the US and Israel struck Iran back in February. So is this connected to that war. Or is it sectarian hatred. Or something else entirely. Nobody knows yet.
Even the attack itself isn't fully pinned down. Footage on state television appears to show three gunmen, two with pistols and one with a long gun. But a funeral attendee told the same broadcaster he only saw two, one with a pistol and one with a rifle. That hasn't been sorted out.
So three questions are sitting there unanswered. Who did this. Why this funeral, at this church. And whether it's a one-off or the start of something wider.
Right now, Jordan has a death toll, a wounded count still climbing in the hospitals, and a king promising an iron fist against people nobody has named yet.
