Russia just kept bombing Ukraine every night with no ceasefire in sight
Russia is still bombing Ukraine tonight. Fourth night in a row.
And right now, there's no ceasefire anywhere in the country.
So what actually happened? Russia fired 170 Shahed-type drones overnight. 76 of them were jet-powered, and some were decoys built just to confuse Ukraine's air defence.
Ukraine's Air Force says it shot down or suppressed 147 of them. Strikes hit 18 locations. Falling debris damaged eight more.
The toll so far: at least 14 people killed, 57 injured, across the whole country in 24 hours. Odesa Oblast got hit in what officials are calling a mass strike.
Early this morning, a Russian guided bomb hit an apartment block in Kharkiv. Two floors came down. Ihor Terekhov, Kharkiv's mayor, says at least 22 people are injured. Six of them are children.
Eight people were killed nationwide the day before, according to AFP, AP and Reuters.
And in Sumy, a glide bomb hit a children's centre. Three people died. One of them was a 16-year-old girl.
This is the third night running that Kyiv has been hit. The pattern goes back to 24 September.
Here's the number that matters most. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's President, says Russia has fired more than 2,200 attack drones at Ukraine this week. Around 1,630 to 1,650 aerial bombs. 38 missiles.
That's not one strike. That's every single day, for a week straight.
Russia's Defence Ministry says it bombed a Kyivstar data centre and an Omega Telecom facility in Kyiv. It calls them military-linked. Ukraine hasn't confirmed that.
Two days ago, Sergei Lavrov, Russia's Foreign Minister, stood up at the UN General Assembly in New York and said Moscow will keep its campaign going, in his words, to the end.
