Saudi Arabia hasn't confirmed any of it. Hasn't denied it either. Nothing at all on Dammam or Jizan.
That's everything we know.
Why this mattersSo here's what Saudi Arabia has said. Nothing about Dammam. Nothing about Jizan.
Turki al-Maliki, who speaks for the Saudi-led coalition, says air defences shot down two drones over Riyadh. He also says they intercepted a ballistic missile heading for Saudi Arabia's southern region. He didn't say who fired either one.
And King Fahd International Airport matters. It sits about 31 kilometres from Aramco's Dhahran headquarters. That's the centre of Saudi Arabia's oil industry. Ras Tanura, the crude export terminal, is right there too.
The US Embassy in Riyadh put out a security alert a few hours ago. It says the airport is operational, with some delays and cancellations. It also warns that Houthi attacks on civilian airports could escalate fast, beyond just the airport itself.
Now here's the pattern. If this is accurate, it's the third time the Houthis have hit this airport in three weeks.
On 11 October, a strike hit the airport. Nobody was hurt. On 21 October, Saudi Arabia's civil aviation authority confirmed a strike on the same airport killed two people. A Saudi citizen and an Indian resident. Eight more were hurt. The day before that, a strike on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh killed at least 12 people and injured around 308.
So the pattern goes: no deaths, then deaths, then a statement Saudi Arabia won't even touch.
The Houthis have been fighting Saudi-backed forces in Yemen since 2014. In July this year they declared a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia and started hitting its oil tankers. Reported strikes on Saudi airports and military sites have been going up in recent weeks.
So why is Saudi Arabia silent on this one? Could be the drones never got through. Could be they're still checking the damage. Could be they just don't want to say.
What we don't know is whether Dammam airport was actually hit, or whether the drones were shot down first. The airport staying open fits either story.
Saudi Arabia still hasn't said a word about it.
