One woman was hurt. She's now with medics, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service.
That's everything we know.
Why this mattersSo this is night three in a row for Kyiv.
The strikes started overnight on the 24th of September. They haven't stopped since.
And there's been no daytime break either. Five people were hurt in Russian attacks on Kyiv during the day on the 26th, according to Kyiv Independent, citing officials. The Associated Press said four. Kyiv is getting hit day and night, no gaps.
The night before this one was worse. On the 25th of September, Russian attacks on Kyiv killed seven people. One was a 14-year-old boy who was an Israeli citizen. 59 others were hurt, 25 of them in hospital. Al Jazeera, citing AFP and AP, said 58 hurt — close enough, but not the same number.
Across the whole country, Russian attacks killed six people and injured 45 in the 24 hours to the 26th, local authorities said. AFP and AP said four killed nationwide that day. Different tally. Not clear if they're counting the same hours.
The overnight attack on the 25th into the 26th was huge. Ukraine's Air Force said Russia fired 173 Shahed-type drones, 50 of them jet-powered. Ukraine's air defences shot down 134. Nobody has said yet how many drones came tonight.
Vitali Klitschko had already said the capital was under near-continuous Russian attack for a second day running — and that was before tonight's strikes even started.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's President, wrote on X that Russia is escalating every single day. He says quote "the world must choose stronger responses to keep the war from spreading further". He also said Russia isn't preparing to end the war, not right now, and accused Vladimir Putin of looking for reasons to keep fighting.
Russia hasn't said anything about tonight's attack. Its Defence Ministry did say the strikes on the 26th damaged a data centre that supports mobile internet and Starlink. It also said its forces hit a cargo ship carrying military supplies near Odesa, and hit a logistics hub in the city. Nothing from Russia about hitting homes.
And all of this is happening in the middle of a diplomatic push. Sergei Lavrov, Russia's Foreign Minister, told the UN General Assembly that Europe is doing everything it can to stop peace talks, and that Moscow will get what it wants no matter what happens. Donald Trump, the US President, said the same day he hopes Zelenskyy settles with Putin, and Putin settles with him.
Here's what we don't know. The full toll from tonight, beyond the one woman hurt. How many drones were actually fired tonight. Whether there's a fourth night coming. And whether Zelenskyy has said anything about this attack specifically.
Three nights running. Nobody's saying it stops here.
