Iran just threatened to widen the war if America strikes again
Donald Trump and Iran's Revolutionary Guard just threatened to destroy each other.
And it's happening right as both delegations land in New York for the UN General Assembly.
So what did Trump actually say? He did a phone interview with Fox News two days ago. He said he's in a "deciding mode" on Iran.
He laid out three options. Wipe Iran out. Let its economy rot. Or make a deal.
Iran answered within hours.
Hossein Mohebbi, the spokesperson for Iran's Revolutionary Guard, told Fars news agency that Iran would change the weapons and geography of the war if the US attacks again. That's Iran threatening a bigger, wider war the moment the US strikes.
A day later, Iran's central military command went further. It's called the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. It said its intelligence shows the US is preparing new strikes.
It promised retaliation it called sustained, effective and painful, aimed at American positions across the whole region.
And here's the part that matters for everyone nearby. Iran said any country that lets its land be used to support a US attack will be treated as complicit. And could be hit too.
So Iran just put every US base and every US ally in the region on notice.
Now the timing. The US and Iran are approaching six months of war. It started with joint US and Israeli strikes on 28 February 2026.
A memorandum of understanding was signed in June. It expired last month. Since then, talks have stalled and attacks around the Strait of Hormuz have picked back up.
And it's not just Iran and the US anymore.
Houthi rebels in Yemen, backed by Iran, took Perim Island in the last two weeks. That's a strategic point in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
A few days ago, the Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Riyadh at dawn. Saudi Arabia's coalition says it was intercepted and destroyed. No one was hurt.
The coalition's spokesperson, Major-General Turki al-Maliki, says the Houthis also tried to hit Bisha, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu. All of those were stopped too.
